If you have a Toyota remote keyless entry system, your car may have the factory system OR the Toyota VIP system. The VIP system is an optional dealer or port-installed system and is different from the factory system. It was put on cars that did not have the factory system or sold as an upgrade by Toyota dealers. The VIP system usually has a rectangular "Toyota Security" plate on the dash. Remote keyless entry was an option, not standard equipment. It is the customer's responsibility to determine which system they have, if any, and to purchase the correct remote for their vehicle.
